First pairs for school days and teens

Starting out with period underwear at school can feel like a lot to sort through. We cut several of our regular bamboo jersey styles down into teen sizing so the fit sits smooth under gym shorts or jeans. Here is how we talk people through their first week.

Talking through the hip tape

Sizing for young bodies works best with a cloth tape held flat across the widest point of the seat. Do not pull the tape tight. Let it rest level over the hips while standing naturally, and compare that number against our size charts.

Bodies change fast during these school terms. If hip measurements sit between two sizes on the chart, taking the larger size gives the leg bands room to sit flat without digging in during long class periods or sports practice.

Choosing between two gusset builds

We sew two styles of lined gussets into our teen cuts. The Absorbent line has a wider, thicker central core that extends further up the back seam. It suits the heaviest days of a cycle or long desk hours when getting to a restroom takes time.

Our Leakproof line uses a slimmer, lighter lining. It works well on lighter flow days or as a calm backup alongside other products. The bamboo jersey outer stays quiet under clothes, which takes away the rustle that makes many teens feel self-conscious in school stalls.

Packing the school bag

A small pouch in a backpack makes the day easier. Pack one clean spare pair alongside a small zip pouch for the worn pair. If a change is needed between third period and lunch, swapping pairs in a bathroom stall takes moments.

Rinse the worn pair in cold water once home from school, then wash on a gentle cycle and hang dry. Building that quiet habit takes the scramble out of busy school mornings.
